A RELIGIOUS COMPLEX Northern region of Mewar (22 Kms). It houses 108 temples chiselled out of sandstone and marble, this temple of Eklingji was built in 734 AD. Eklingji Temple is one of the most famous temples of Rajasthan. Located in the town of Eklingji (Kailashpuri), the place got its popular name from the temple. Ekling Ji is popular as Hindu pilgrimage place and there are a number of pilgrims visiting this place every year to seek the holy blessings of Lord Shiva.
Located on the banks of the Banas River and having a distance of 48 from Udaipur in Rajasthan, Nathdwara the Gate of the Lord is visited most frequently by Hindu pilgrims. It is believed that during the reign of the Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. Shrinathji temple of Nathdwara was very famous and ancient temple. One must visit this temple to feel the spiritual ecstasy and get the blessings of Lord Shrinathji.
Haldighati is the pride of Rajsamand District. Haldighati, a famous battlefield and a pass in Aravali Mountains, was made popular by the heroic deeds of Maharana Pratap Singh, a historic warrior from Mewar and his devoted warhorse, Chetak. The pass gets its name from the yellow-coloured soil of the region (turmeric is called haldi in Hindi). These narrow mountain plays very important role in defending the honour of Mewar dynasty. In 1576, Haldighati witness a huge war between Rana Pratap Singh of Mewar and Raja Man Singh of Amber. Maharana Pratap, the most heroic and legendary Rajput ruler was pleased to receive the support from one of his closest generals. The place gives a nostalgic feeling as this was the same place where Chetak, the heroic mount of Rana Pratap, breathed his last after leaving his master to a safe place.
